Carillon “Vexations” Performance – Friends U “Satieday” Preview

Each Saturday, April 13th – May 11th , join us in Heritage Square or street side to hear Erik Satie’s “Vexations” from the clock tower at Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum!

Friends University Fine Arts has been gracious enough to honor us by playing the Bloomfield Carillon in their countdown to their “Satieday” event, May 18 2024 – a day of theatrical music performances across the city of Wichita celebrating the eccentric life and music of composer Erik Satie.

Listen between 1-1:15 p.m. every Saturday for Dr. James Knight and the intriguing sounds of this unique piece of music.

Thank you to Friends Univeristy, Dr. James Knight,  and Lynn Davis (Professor of Organ at WSU) for allowing us to participate in this celebration!

To learn more about the enigmatic composer, the “Satieday” festivities, or how you can also play piano for this event on May 18, visit friends.edu/satie.
