Electric Guitar Summit – Part II – An Afternoon with Deke Dickerson

An afternoon with Deke Dickerson, noted performer, author and music historian.
  • Presentation – 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. “Amazing Stories of the Electric Guitar.”
  • Live Performance – 3:00- 4:00 p.m. 
The Guitar Summit weekend includes access to the Museum’s special exhibition:  “Turn it up to 90! – The Electric Guitar and the 90th Anniversary of its Wichita World Debut”
 
Featuring dozens of historic electric guitars, exploring Wichita’s connection to the most popular musical instrument of our time. The Museum has produced several well-received exhibits since 2002, revealing Wichita’s unique place in the instrument’s history. The Museum thanks exhibit sponsors: Bonavia Properties, Devlin Interiors, David & Barbara Rolph, Ron & Lee Starkel, and collectors who have loaned instruments for exhibition.
 
The Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum is one of America’s leading local history museums and accredited by the American Alliance of Museum since 1972. It has served the community since 1939 and since 1980 has occupied Wichita’s original 1890 City Hall building.
