TEENS THROUGH TIME

The Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum is a gathering place for enthusiastic high school students to gain museum literacy while working together to plan their own event, a “Teen Night” held at the Museum.
This new program, in its 2nd year, is an exciting addition to our customary educational programming. The High School students will learn about Museum work and local history, culminating in a Teen Night event of their design. Group members will see the behind-the-scenes operations that make a museum run and work collaboratively to plan and put on a “Teen Night” event.
The group meets once a month starting in October, with the event in April.
This group is a great opportunity and résumé builder for students who need volunteer hours, want to learn more about museums, or are history enthusiasts.
