Come out to the 2nd Floor DeVore Auditorium on Sunday, September 21st, to hear Laura Taylor present a program on Barbara J. Thompson’s 2024 book “C.A. Seward, 1884-1939: Printmaker, Artist, & Art Advocate.”

This program is FREE and open to the public.

Books will be available for purchase during the event.

About the Presentation

Inspired by the Palace of Fine Art at the Saint Louis World’s Fair, Coy Avon Seward (1884-1939) decided to pursue a life devoted to art. With little opportunity for formal training, the Kansas native became a commercial artist, teacher, mentor, and advocate. A founding member of the Prairie Print Makers, he was determined to make a place for art on the plains. Join Laura Taylor, Exhibitions and Engagement Director at Mark Arts, in exploring the life, art, and legacy of C.A. Seward.
